New Production and Warehouse Facility

Abbey Masterbatch Ltd has invested over £500,000 in a new production and warehouse facility, plus additional plant capacity for black, white and additive masterbatch production.

Overall plant capacity will increase by over 30% following the installation of an additional twin screw extruder for white and additive masterbatch production, plus a further line to increase its production capacity for black masterbatch.

An additional twin screw extruder is being ordered which will be used to increase the production capacity of its range of speciality engineering polymer based masterbatch.

The new warehouse facility will allow a much higher level of finished goods stock to be held which will enable the company to offer a much faster and a more flexible service to customers.

There has also been further investment in extending the current office space by over 50%, which is being followed by a further phase two expansion.

The company is now seeking to increase new key management positions to take advantage of this substantial investment programme.

Michael Shirt, owner and Managing Director said the investment reflected the confidence the company has in expanding its current sales in both UK and export markets.

The investment programme has been fully funded by the company from its own resources.
